- We have a short intro call to discuss your needs and goals. Talk about your challenges and the possible solutions. We understand each other’s processes and find the best and easiest ways to work together.
- If we’re a good fit for each other, that’s great. You then get a proposal with the solutions, expectations (yours and mine), scope, deadlines, deliverables and project fee. We agree on the proposal, and I begin the project at my earliest available start date.
- I’m accessible and easy to reach during the project. You also get clear milestones and timelines, so you’re never in the dark.
- We kick off the project with an in-depth questionnaire. Where you answer targeted questions about your product/service, positioning, messaging, brand voice, ideal customers, competitors, offer and more. We have a shorter follow-up call if need be.
- If it suits your schedule better, you can answer these questions on a strategy call.
Timeframe: 2–3 weeks
- I review your current messaging, brand voice and current website (if available), plus analytics and available customer and competitor research.
- I conduct internal stakeholder interviews, in addition to original competitive messaging research and voice-of-customer research (customer interviews and/or survey, review mining, recorded demos and more).
- So that your messaging and copy will meet your ideal customers where they are, join the conversations they’re having in their heads and build their trust in you.
- After that, you get a 3–5-page messaging guide that follows a proven framework and includes voice-of-customer data, your unique value proposition, key benefits and a story framework. Plus: the website architecture and a copy outline, so that we’re aligned on what I’ll be writing.
Timeframe: 2–4 weeks
- After we discuss and agree on the above, I start writing. Meanwhile, you can get back to what you do best. You get regular updates, so you never have to wonder what’s going on.
- After I’ve written the copy, I put it into wireframes with suggestions for supporting media and visuals. So you (and your designer/developer) can easily visualise the copy on the page.
- You get a walkthrough of the copy. Give me your feedback, and I work on the copy till it’s perfect for you.
- Even after the project has concluded and the final payment has been made, I continue to work with your designer/developer to ensure the copy is implemented correctly.
- We schedule a time to review your website’s initial performance. At this point, I may offer some optimisation ideas – as part of the project.
